The road less travelled ... (Pongola then St. Lucia)

Meandering through towering green hills'
winding around dusty paths which will grow into roads
we trudged home, leaving the sparkling ocean and balmy breeze of the coast

Time had held no meaning for the sun-worshippers
hours and days jostled each other to remain relevant in our minds
but we were beyond the arms of our ordinary existence

Laughter filtered through numbed ears
while real music was freshly born in the strings of a guitar
we rejoiced in the energy and reminiscences of our youth
watching the newly hatched play the same games two decades later

our souls soothed, we returned home

Reflections on Synchcronicity ............ from an insomniac motherboard

Country A beckoned a couple of weeks ago, and dreading the extended trip away from the beloved 13 year old fruit of my womb, I suddenly heard security issues there could halt my travel. Stayed Put ......

Country B loomed this week, but infrastructure issues there also put paid to my business trip. Just when my daughter needed me most, she fell ill this week and is slowly healing .......... Mum's TLC was sooo needed.
Mother's Intuition  -- what a marvelous gift, born with our offspring, could be part of the umbilical boomerang effect.

Make no mistake, the travel is exciting, the work enticing, but the crucial roles we play as parents supercedes ALL else.

Some days the mouthy fruit of said womb chirps that she might not recognise me on the heroic return from one of my continental trips. Though now as an official teen, she relishes said travel....

More to come from the mothership!!!!!

The River of Life

Soft gushing distant water

babbles cozily on the periphery of my consciousness

the tinkling laughter of children

floats merrily on in the midday sun

silver flashes of fish that got away from the blind fishermen

break the surface of the grey blue mirror

taunting disappointed people

the river ignores the invasion

slight winds creasing its perfection

into a rhythmic dance of joy

baby ocean so far from the deep blue

but tracing its patterns

to an ancient song of the wind

floating merrily from far shores

with the south easterly

carrying whispers of forgotten magic

inland to the great new ones soon to be born

What secrets are hidden in its depths

lurking on the conscience of the community

are there broken dreams hidden in bubbles bursting cobalt blue

The ceaseless hum of taunted bees

their senses assailed by the orgy of sweet offerings

weave back and forth

nose-diving into our midst

hell-bent on attacking any open source of nectar

abandoned bottles of coloured fizzy water

testimony to the bees ferocity

Sharp bright blue smudges the outlines of green leafy trees

our precious sun blessing all in its path

the air around us whispering silent peace

instills a feeling of wonder

reflecting our lives at its best

my body whispers into the earth

ironing my imprint onto the warm damp sand

I lay down breathing in the duskiness of the cinnamon sky

Female Grace (poem)

patience kindness love gentleness

caring beauty nurturing softness

this

our

gift

to

our

species

oh

yes, life too

wisdom oozes through our skin

to teach us

how to handle our opposites

without us

they would become

the demons

they were born to be

we hold their

aggression

impatience

stupidity

in our palms

softly cooing

blindly praying

for them to become self-realised

but knowing

their falseness

fed by their foolish desire

to overcome

kindness

gentleness

softness

the world is lost

without fe-males

Women supporting women

Dreamers,
Women are the fabric of our society. Without our wisdom, gentleness and courage, the family unit will disappear. Despite and because of all the hardship women endure, they glow with hope for the future, and the wellbeing of their families. Let us find a way to honour the ordinary women we come across, intent on overcoming all obstacles in their quest to keep the family alive and together. This is not a site against men, but rather one FOR women. We need to stick together, keep each other inspired and give each one a hand up.
How many strong women in your life could use a little help, financially, or emotionally or even just comradeship? Lets see how we can work together, even in spirit, to help all our sisters along.
We all go through the same emotions, physicality and life experiences. We are one in blood and heart. With just a little shift in perspective, we can choose to see each other as allies in this human family.
All it takes is one person to change a small thing, and it could mushroom into an amazing positive change in circumstances for someone.
Today, for no good reason, just smile at someone; be extra courteous to them at home; in the office; on the road; at malls, greet a child; wave at kids. We need all the positive energy we can get. If we practice this brand of positive mentality, we can start changing our perspective, attitude and behaviour. Just imagine.

Salutations,
What marvels of human imagination can allow my thoughts to flow smoothly onto this screen and into your consciousness, just by a click of my keyboard and the generosity of the "blogging community". On the road to nirvana, I feel that we can learn much from each other within the multi-hued galaxy of the online universe. We are at hyper-speed with mindless games, yet cannot fathom the delicate touch of genuine human interaction which alone staves off the demons of loneliness and desolation. This lunar landscape of beings having forgotten our purpose can be repopulated by imagination, creativity and a remembering of how we are all connected to everything around us.
I play many roles in this war-ravaged planet, and believe me, it is a war out there! We are fighting poverty, ignorance, cruelty, famine and a myriad of self-inflicted disasters. Huddled deep within our selves, is the certainty that there is something out there that guides us forward, to the greater good.
Some see me as a mother, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, an aunt, even a grandmother. I have been called friend, confidante, businesswoman, writer, lover. I am all of these in my blood, and I am each of them in a vacuum.
Has the question ever left us; "Who am I", and "Why am I here"? Is there any answer that just feels right?
I have traversed the African continent in all directions, hopped over Europe to the Americas, and felt the fragility of my soul in India. With all our nuanced differences, the only certainty is that in our core we are the same creature.
I wish to ensnare your gaze, so that we can all look inward to the glow of our own light, to break off the shackles that blind us to who we are.
I bid you adieu for now my fellow travellers, and hope to rejoice in our shared enlightenment.
